I just went downstairs and checked my quartz Corsa clock. I installed the
quartz kit sometime in the early 90's. The second hand moves smoothly with no
jumps. As for accuracy, The only times I have had to set the time has been
when DST changes or when I disconnect the battery.

The tick-tock type seems smooth but is really several baby steps each
second. Quartz clocks I have seen the second hand usually moves in whole
second jumps. Is how I tell. Is the Corvair replacement different ?
