The AC dash clock of the period is not electrical per se, rather it is
"solenoid wound" which means it is a spring actuated mechanical (tick-tock)
clock that runs for about 45 seconds then an arm makes a contact which
energises the solenoid (CLICK) which winds the clock for another 45ish seconds.
Varying the voltage has no effect on the speed of the clock but may stress
the solenoid.
