Guys,
Thanks for the many response about swapping the drive end bearing from a rebuilt one-wire alternator into a Corvair frame.
I pulled apart a spare alternator that didn't rotate very easily.  After cleaning everything up, the original ball bearing felt fine; so I regreased it & assembled everything together.  I also pulled the new sealed bearing & hold down from the non-Vair frame; figuring the rebuilder would replace those parts anyway - this way I have a spare.
