Keep the Baldwins as souvenirs for the Oil Filter Group. We had a Baldwin
split the seal on Kent Sullivans white coupe at the Time Trials.
Fortunately we only lost a ½ quart of oil before Ken Hand came in to the
pits. In the same vein Kent installed the last design Canadian AC filter
with the same U shaped seal on his concours car; guess what started an oil
leak!
Save the mailing to someone with a cutaway its already been tested.

So do we think that ALL filters with the "over the edge" gasket don't seal
properly? Or just the Purolators? I have a case of Baldwin filters (good
quality, and years old) that have the "over the edge" gasket, but without
installing on a cutaway mount how do you tell?
I'd be glad to send a filter to someone who has the cutaway mount to check.
