<VV> Torque settings for case bolts

I'm not trying to be insulting, so please don't take the following as  such.
 
You're in the Dallas area, right? Can you get together with an experienced  
Corvair mechanic or even any mechanic to help you on site with both  the torque 
and measuring issues. I can think of a few. Doing this stuff for the  first 
time without ever seeing someone do it or without having an experienced  mentor 
can even make an easy job difficult.
 
If all else fails, throw the engine in the trunk and haul it up I-35 to  
Wichita. We'll help you put that engine together.
