I'm sure there's a reason you want them out...I didn't and some came out
anyway (doing pushrod tubes). I don't know why double-nutting them would be
bad. I got a tool to install them from Clark's (other vendors may have
them, too) which worked great. What you need to be sure when you take them
out is that you don't mess up the hole. You may need to use loctite or an
oversize stud (oversize on the block end). Bought some of those from
Clark's too and they're still in my engine.
