The original plan was to create the Corvair as a completely new division of
GM, like they did with Saturn.  Hence the comprehensive line of vehicles
available in the EM, 'vert, coupe, sedan, wagon, van, & pickup.

Just a guess though....

Aw, c'mon!  One of you lurkers has to remember why (with the  exception of
the ultra-weird '60s) our little cars don't say "Chevrolet" on  them!
