i do not remove the tank to replace tubing on early or late cars. i cut the
old tubing as close to fittings as i can. then yank it out. sometimes i have to
get up to the clips with a long screwdriver to pop them loose. i then remove
the ends with a socket. then use old line as a pattern adding a couple inches
to work with. you can always tuck extra out of the way carefully later after
getting both ends hooked up. i put a slight bend about 6 inches from the end i
start pushing behind the tank. it takes a few minutes to get it , but once you
do it it goes good. i put a dab of silicone at both ends to tie it down.
works good, and if you go carefully you can make it look good also by pushing it
around with a blunt bar or screwdriver after both ends are hooked up. i have
done many cars this way with no problems. it is quicker and safer than
removing the tank.
