<VV> Gas tank

Removing the gas tank is difficult and tends to give rise to unexpected
requirements like filler grommets, senders, overflow tubes, etc.
Be advised that, when MY right front brake line gave out, I was NOT in
the mood to remove the gas tank I had just put in there, so I routed the
line BEHIND the gas tank rather than OVER it. It took somewhat more line (I
seem to recall using a 51-inch piece - this was YEARS ago) than is required
for the original routing.
My brakes have been working fine for well over six years since then. I
don't feel it's necessary to remove the gas tank, if you're willing to
reroute that line.

Subject: <VV> Gas tank
Hi. I just broke the front right brake line on my 65 corsa coupe (why do
flare fittings hate me?), and I realize that I need to drop the gas tank in
order to replace it. The manual's procedure is a little lacking in detail
for me. It says to "remove rubber seal from filler neck" how? It also says
to use tool j-8950 to remove the sending unit. I assume I don't need that
tool, seeing as how it probably doesn't exist anymore, but how do I remove
the unit without it? Is there anything else I need to know that isn't in the
manual? Thanks in advance.
