i would suggest looking at the secondary carbs to see if the throttle plates 
are gummed up and sticking.  try a little carb cleaner down the carbs while 
moving the linkage full stroke. also look at base of carbs for dark gas deposits 
gumming up shafts. look at linkage under car where it comes out of the floor 
pan also. might be slightly bent and binding on boot.
