"Corvette Guys" come in all stripes, but I'd agree that the number of  
"dislikable" types is higher than other cars.  I always have to laugh when  I hear 
someone say "I beat a Corvette"... My first thought "Was he racing too"?  and 
my second thought: Gee a 3200 pound Camaro beat a 3600# Corvette, what's so  
surprising about that?  I was in town with my '65 FI Corvette (skinny  tires, 
whitewalls) and some kid in a Civic with a blatty exhaust tried to "beat  a 
Corvette"  guess what?  I smoked him big time - some surprise.   I guess he wasn't 
quite connecting the grey beard and whitewall tires with a  375hp engine and 
heavy right foot...   I really like smoking the kids  in their Civics when I'm 
in my Audi V8 - all the kids see is some old guy with a  beard (me) driving a 
funny-looking badgeless Buick (Audi) -  hehehe 
 
 I can handle the "jerk" element of Corvettedom, what I really dislike  are 
the "numbers" guys.  Get a life!  I fear (and see) this tragedy  approaching 
our Corvair world - bye-bye fun, hello "anality".
