it could also be the low band adjustment or leaking seal on the clutch pack 
causing slipping..does it "hiss" when taking off from a stop? (slipping?)  plus 
once it has been that hot the pump steel plate in the back of the trans case 
has probably blistered and causing leakby.  lots of problems after they have 
been hot once. i have had similiar troubles. mine got hot enough to blow some 
out the vent but not the dipstick. it seemes to be a front pump leakage 
problem.
