In the 60s it was a fight between WLS and WCFL.
 
They traded barbs, and DJs constantly. They were both up and down in the ratings.

WLS was the only station we cool kids listened to back in the '60s in 
Chicagoland. Dick Biondi was on WLS - here's a link to an aircheck he did in
