<VV> EM Kickpanel Vent Color

What color should the metal grill kickpanel covers be on a red interior on 
a EM ?
I am putting new pickpanel cardboard in and they were absent when I got 
the car.
Should they be black or red?
Oh and a tip... I have done this many times when installing kickpanel 
cardboard.   Paint the backs with clearcoat before installing to seal the 
back.  They dont warp as easily then.
