well back in the 60's i winessed GE engineers out in parking lot at lunch 
time putting raw rice into carb intakes showing off. it came out the tail pipe 
puffed up and black or brown.. it did not seem to hurt the engines. i have put 
lots of water thru carboned up engines over the years(carefully of course) but 
i doubt i would consider walnut shells.  go ahead and try it and report back 
to us??  ..hmm common sense?  and they vote?
