In my 'younger days' I had 2 pieces of railroad tie to support the car, after the jackstands punched thru the rear "V" jack point, and slid at the front point...they allowed me to work on the car when a driveway wasn't available;the rear seam would dig in a bit, were impossible to split, and I ALWAYS tested by pushing sideways on the car..they wouldn't punch holes in the asphalt, and would never tip over, and even held the rear suspension from over-extending when needed..stored in the trunk, they added needed weight in winter,too...Tom <mothers of invention fan and saturday nite "garage">
