  Sounds good to me I started repairing tires at 14 during ww2 when it meant  
saving tires by any way you could, using boots and interliners  repairing 
slashed innertubes somtimes with 6 inch patches  Two tire irons were all you had 
and a hand pump. it can be hard work but still do it when needed these tools 
were always carried in the car to be used on the road.
these days though my tire dealer repair my tires at no charge
