<VV> drilled brake drums

Hello, vver's.  I'm a long time reader, but part time participant.   My 
question is: Is it worth it to drill the drums to improve cooling on a 
regular brake job?  Has anyone tried doing this?  I remember reading about 
this modification on some "tech tip", a long time ago.  Your answers will be 
highly appreciated.
