Nope. Nash was doing it in the early 40s before Hudson! The 1941 Nash 600
was unitized construction, and as far as I know that was the first American
car with unit construction (the reason I know is because I would *really*
like one!).
However, I am so bruised from my experiences of being so wrong so much this
evening that I expect someone will correct me!
Mind you, I *do* know that Lancia was unit construction in 1922 (yada, yada,
yada...).
