Yes it does.   Actually, it's the Fisher Body tag in the engine bay on the
back unibody frame runner, and not the VIN tag.    

IIRC ,the letter Z indicates the Spyder option package.    Somebody correct
me if I'm wrong here.   It's been a while.   

The cutout for the turbo engine exhaust pipe is a good indicator in that
the lack of a cutout indicates the car wasn't a Spyder...  but the cutout
being there does not necessarily mean that it IS an original Spyder because
I've cut out the area and knurled a lip and mounted the bracket to support
the dogleg where the air grill attaches when I rebodied a '62 Spyder long
ago.    

That code letter on the body tag is the best indication as to whether or
not the car was originally a Spyder.
