"DEXRON III (H Revision) ATF/General Motors has upgraded the Dexron III ATF Specification./
The upgraded spec is referred to as DEXRON III H. This upgrade will insure that ATF's are commercially avaiable to match the quality and durability of the current factory fill ATF Fluids  that meet the requirements of the H specification will be labeled "Approved for the H Specification"/The Fluids can be used in apy application which specifies the use of Dexron III, 
Dexron IIE, Dexron II or Dexron ATF's."

OK - so it appears that a supply of ATF will be readily available for the forseeable future. I've asked a question on this list several times about "Mercon" ATF, which claims to be compatible with all Dexron applications.  So far, nobody has answered as to whether or not Mercon labelled fluids are truly ok for the Corvair powerglide transmission.

Does anyone out there know the answer about Mercon ATF?
