<VV> help w/charging prob

.went over to Sam's last nite,the 'demon' corsa refuses to put out..have voltage at reg terminals #3 and#4,nothing at 'F' or #2 eng running..swapped alts,spare reg,fixed broken red at reg harness plug ,may have bad ground strap on dash..KO/ENG OFF --gen/fan lite dim...probed diodes in alt w/ meter on diode setting,no 'beep'...going to dig up spare harness,try 'stand alone' --should reg be frame grounded,or do the rubber mount grommets insulate it?..respond off-line is faster,need to exorcise this today ..thanks,Tom
