Title of thread:
Was 'traitor', now 'trader':
Surely, these both sound exactly the same in American English? I certainly
can't tell the difference anyway!
On another note, I have always been amused at the American pronunciation of
'Mazda' - I would have expected it to be 'Mairzda'.
But no - it's 'Marzda' - which surely implies that it should be spelt
'Mozda'!
Cf. the slang word for mother, which is pronounced 'Marm' and spelt 'Mom'.
Cheers
Alan
