Another semi-introduction. My first car was a 61 700 4dr., it had 54,000
miles on it when I got it, with NO rust anywhere. Well, about 14 or so
years later, I got another Corvair, a 66 Corsa convertible, 140 4sp., in
need of some body attention. Thankfully, before we had our son, I was in
the autobody business for over 8 years. I am now a stay-at-home-dad.
Therefore, not a lot of money or time, unfortunately. Things change
after having a child! I'm glad we got our house and things before!! I
picked up my Corsa back in August as a birthday gift from my wife, and
finally got into it last week. Wooo Hooo! Some rust on this one, no big
surprise being in Maine. I repaired the lower front right fender and
lower valance panel under the front bumper. It needs a lot. Front and
rear bumpers, driver door (rusted), rear cove trim, headlight buckets,
etc., etc.. Interior is pretty good, needs carpet and front lower seats
(torn). Car is all there, complete, a great start. It runs, which is a
huge plus. I am hoping to get it on the road by next summer. If I don't
have it on the road, there is always next year. ;)
Thanks!
