I may be a little late on this one, but I purchased my cover from 
Clarks (the one that had like 3 or 5 different "layers") that was 
supposed to let the moisture out.  When the car is covered and gets wet 
- it dries pretty quickly and has a soft inner material that prevents 
the paint from getting scratched.  I also have a cord/lock that goes 
under the car to prevent it from flying off in the wind - plus it was 
specifically made for the Corvair and has elastic that goes under both 
bumpers.  I think the best part of the cover is to protect the interior 
from the sun and fading.
