Seldom takes more than 20 miles of freeway driving.  ;-)
I'm not convinced they ever clear at idle - not enough oil pressure?

Seriously, I used to have a lifter which would bleed down after sitting a
week or so in the winter and would take 5-10 miles of my 14 mile (highway)
drive to work to finally quieten down.  I drove it for years before I
finally got tired of it and changed it out.
