Just a note to all:
Not all rear seat-bottom "tiedown latches" are the same for any given
year. I know for a fact that in '67 there was a first design and a
second design, and that the two are not compatable. Just how many
different designs (total) were used over ALL years of Corvairs, I don't
know. But it's something to keep in mind when swapping seat bottoms around.

It might take some persuasion, like a lever or screwdriver keeping the seat bottom up just a little and a screwdriver or putty knife to drive the locking mechanism rearward, which is a piece of sheet metal being held by a metal tab mounted on the rear portion of the floor seating mounting. Lift it enough to get the putty knife in there, but no so much that you place tension on the locking mechanism.
