Just a guess - Is it Jim? Different distributors were used in each engine
model. Sometimes they changed across years, sometimes not. The principle
differences were Mechanical advance rate and total amount, vacuum advance type (for
Turbos pressure retard.) We would have to know the engine HP and year to
pick out the correct original distributor. If it was originally in a 65 and had
two carbs, it was likely a 95 or 110. The dist number is stamped on the side
of the housing. There are several brands of electronic conversions, a couple
fit inside the distributor, others are just outside boxes controlled by the
original points. You will get a bunch of opinions. The Pertronix brand lives
entirely within the distributor - excepting only the two connecting wires.
There are others that replace the points and control an external box. The witch
kind only work on Halloween! <grin> - Seth
