If went it above 375, I soon found out I was low on oil. In fact, when it did run hot, it was always low on oil. With sufficient oil it was always under 350, usually around 300. Ambient temp can make a big difference, though. On cold winter days, it was well under 300, and on during the summer it was often in the 325+ range.
