This is not particularly hard to do. Obviously, you have to have a
4-speed powertrain. Once you have that, the rest is not too bad. You'll
probably want to get rid of the PG dash with the shift lever sticking
through it, and of course, the shift cables. I think the hole for the
floor shift is in all Corvairs. When yours was converted back to a PG,
they might not even have put the cover back over the hole. I think all
Corvairs also have the holes to mount the clutch cross shaft. Yours
probably doesn't even have the plastic bolts plugging up the holes.
Just bolt the cross shaft in place. Of course, you have to have a
clutch pedal. This was the hardest part of converting my '67 from PG to
4-speed, as the '67 pedals are different than the '66 pedal I had and I
had to find a set of '67 pedals in a junk yard. You didn't say what
year your car is; there may be something else with yours. I think '65's
and '66's would be pretty easy. Like putting air conditioning in a
Corvair, it is easier to have the doner car sitting right next to yours
so you can get all the pieces, but there really aren't very many
pieces. Nothing else I can think of.
