Greetings VV!
It is with much sadness I say goodbye to the group. I have been a subscriber
since 1997, while on deployment in Okinawa Japan while my 65 Monza sat in
the garage, patiently awaiting my return. I instantly sparred with Hank on a
couple of issues, but after a bit, we got along fine. I have been mostly
lurking over the years, only chiming in when it seemed the person asking a
question wasn't getting an answer. I fondly remember many things; from the
arrival of Patton Dickson and his growth from neophyte to beginner to the
point where he began answering questions himself, and the struggle over the
Beginners Manual, should we, shouldnt we, who pays for it, how to convince
the CORSA BoD, and on and on. And the wonderful contributors who came
forward and volunteered their time and talent to make it happen.
Along the way some topics made appearances more often than I Love Lucy
reruns: What size tire can I fit under here? Earlys are better than Lates!
PG is better than manual! What size modern seats fit in here? How do I
balance these &#%$&*) carbs? And of course, turbo questions, which get their
own chapter in the story that is VV.
Thank goodness we never wandered off topic :)
And the good humor, Lons poems, and camaraderie will be missed above and
beyond the expert technical answers to difficult questions.
My 65 Monza Vert which I owned for almost 10 years has found a new home in
Canada. The 63 Greenbrier has also moved on. For the first time in many
moons, I am Corvairless. Perhaps Ill be back, if someone waves a 65 Corsa
Vert in evening orchid in front of my face. But for now, I say goodbye.
Thanks for the great friendships and memories.
