After installing said pumps... the car still doesn't start on it's own. No
gas is being pulled to the pump... STILL. With gas in the carbs she starts
as before. So with that being said what could possibly be the problem?
Might it be a carb issue?

It might be the rubber line in the driver's rear wheel well. If it leaks
there, the pump will pull air instead of gas. Also, do your carbs have the
plastic spacer between the carbs and heads? If not, maybe the carb is
getting hot and boiling the gas out when you shut the engine off.
