James Reeves did a lap at Talladega on the oval of something like 135 for
the fastest closed course record for a Stinger back in the good old days
when they let people try for speed record on the oval. I cannot fine the
specific piece of paper with the exact number.
****I remember that event. I thought that the speed was 147 or thereabouts.
Corvette News (Vol 2 #3) reports at the 67 Runoffs at Dayton Jerry Thompson
was clocked at 141 on the banking. He was using a 3.27 rear end.
