Alesia:

Take it from someone who was going to do a "quick swap" of a fuel pump 
the other morning before going in to work: Put an old towel underneath 
the fuel pump, i.e., resting just above the harmonic balancer.  That 
way, if (when) your slightly slippery wrench pops out of your hand while 
trying to undo the pump's retention bolt, the wrench won't go all the 
way down into the lower sheet metal.
