Kathryn, Best to consider trailer or a moving Co. until you can go through
the car.

Likely issues: Brakes! - The entire system needs to be gone through which
will likely entail all new lines and hoses as well as wheel cylinder
rebuilds.

Gas tank and fuel lines: It is likely to have rust and or really NASTY gas.
Probably needs to come out and be cleaned and coated. The main fuel line
cleaned out and the rubber portions replaced. Oh Aviation gas is Low Lead
and not (technically) legal for road use. Corvairs do not need the lead -
so 93 octane is what most of us use. You may need to replace the pump and
the carbs may need attention as well.

Tank and Brakes (combo) - the brake line to the RF passes over the top of
the fuel tank. Replace it while the tank is out - even if you don't think
you need to. The brake lines rust from the inside, so you can't always tell
by looking at the at the outside.

May want to also change out the points, cap, rotor for the distributor -
just to eliminate that as a possible source of problems.

Also, change the oil and filter.

Congrats on your new possession. Enjoy it!
