All methods for unsticking clutches carry some level of risk. 

What I have done in the past is to start the car in neutral, get it warmed up, then start it in gear, hold the clutch pedl to the floor and accelerate/decelerate. 
This has always worked for me, but you have to have an appropriate place to do it and be very aware of your surroundings. And YMMV...

Using your method you'll need to be careful what you hook to on the car as there will likely be a significant amount of stress applied. But depending on the 
space available, that may be a better solution for you.

Of course the lowest risk solution is to drop the drivetrain and separate manually...
