Smitty says:  A couple of things John.  First brazing steel requires that
the steel be bright and clean.  Useless to try if it is not.  Use just
enough heat to bring the steel to barely cherry using a torch tip no
bigger than required to do that.  Adjust the flame so the feather just
does dissapear into the cone.  Do not use a harsh flame.  If you have to
do that to get enough heat then use a bigger tip.  Three thirty seconds
or one eighth fluxed rod is fine for body metal.
