I wish I had your luck.  I was very careful when I pulled off the old boots,
but two of the crimps just gave way.  You can see by the pic
(http://corvair.defiancestudios.com/plug.jpg) the crimp is only held in
place by the insulation.  The insulation is not very strong and broke when I
pulled on the boot.
