For the inquiring minds who want to know:
Sandlappers is a South Carolina term. The first Corsa chapter in South 
Carolina was Sandlapper Corvairs. It was located in Columbia, S.C. It was started by 
Allan Martin and Norman Jacobs, circa 1973. I was a member from late 1975 
until the club lost its charter around 1980 when the club secretary neglected to 
send in the chapter report to Corsa. It was reformed under the name of 
Carolina Corvairs. it is also now defunct. BTW most of the members in the Columbia 
area have gotten out of Corvairs. There are a few still left. If you are looking 
for someone specific I might be able to help.
