As usual, Smitty has it right :-)

If you want to go fast, take an airplane!  Fast in itself is not fun.  By 
Corvairs (mostly stock) are quite exciting at a mere 80mph and get rapidly 
frightening from there.  My Ford diesel pickup will cruise at over 100mph 
with no drama at all.  I had a 94 Caddy ETC for a while ... I could set the 
cruise control on 150 with no drama.  Boring.  The fact that either vehicle 
is much faster does not make them more fun, in fact the Corvairs are much 
more fun.
