Welcome to the group!  I'm on the west coast..so I think differently...ggg

Door won't open?  gas tank is damaged?...It sets BEHIND  the front 
suspension...me thinks TOTAL....

Take it to a body shop 1st...get estimate[s].....then maybe a trip out west 
to get a straight rust free body may be in order....combine with vacation time! 
 You folks still get at least 1 month off a year ..right??
