My bet is that you lashed it down in the same position both times.
Corvairs are rear-heavy, especially a Lakewood. My experience is that
most trailers are built with front-engine cars in mind, and have the
axles so placed. On such a trailer, a Corvair needs to be really far
forward to get proper weight distribution. Your tongue weight probably
wasn't right with it face-first.
