I was aware of the thermal issues leading to the loss of the press fit, but
my thoughts on the aluminum bushing thing were along the lines of doubling
the instance of interference fits, effectively reducing the loosening effect
of different expansion rates. I have received numerous replies on this
which can pretty much be summarized as "you're a fool if you try but good
luck anyway" so I think I'll abandon the thought. Thanks!
