It's VERY doable. 
You will, however, need to dismantle the differential and remove the 'nuts' 
used to retain the late model yokes. Then the early yokes will slide right in. 
You will also need the appropriate forward mounting bracket. 
Now, if you also want a working speedo, you'll need the diff case from a 1965 
FC. This is the only case with with the speedo drive that looks like an LM 
case. But then again, you can bolt any manual tranny to an early differential. 
You simply have to use the right input shaft. I am not so clear on the stick 
models whether or not the pinion shaft for the 61-63 models will work on 64-69 
trannies. For SURE the 1960 pinion will NOT work.
