<VV> DA SANDER VS RANDOM ORBIT SANDER

I need to replace my AIR POWERD DA SANDER.  It no longer works.

I could not find an electric DA at Home Depot.  But the have random orbit
sanders.  

What is the functional difference.  I used an electric the last time
around and I liked not having to have the compressor going all that time.
 Could not hear the radio.
