Not a mater of love......cold hard fact....SJ  rated.....multigrade...I use 
20-50 all year....good down to 5 deg. F

Many use 10-30

BUT  if the engine is worn.....1 qt. every 200-500 miles....in summer..use 
straight 40 wt.

when the car is in excellent shape.....no leaks...etc.  go synthetic...oil 
runs 20 deg. cooler in the summer....
