Turns out that the octane numbers are the same for automobile fuel and
airplane fuel up to a rating of 100.  Above 100, the two scales differ in
their method of calculation.

I ran avgas in my 95hp for years, and it allowed me at least a degree or two
of extra advance without pinging.  Made for a noticable improvement in
performance.

Also, if you spill a lot of avgas in your shoe, it will clear up any toenail
fungus.  (I speak from experience on this.)  Worked great, but I wouldn't
recommend it.  :)
