I don't know what's in the canisters, but mercury would be a bit expensive
to put in there. Anyway, mercury is fully as deadly as arsenic (or gasoline,
except it's NOT explosive). So, if they leak, accident or no, don't drink
any. Dogs and cats won't drink the stuff, since it's not tasty, like
(deadly) antifreeze.

Someone told me that the four steel canisters in the corners of my '68 Monza
convertible are full of DEADLY MERCURY and are there to act as ballast to
stabilize the car.

Is that true?  Do they rust out and leak eventually?  What about rupturing
in an accident?  Should I be concerned about it?
