There is a very nice article (series of articles) about Corvairs in France in
the current issue of the French magazine Retro Viseur (sp?, means rear view
mirror). This is a very high quaility (glossy) magazine that is apparently
very popular and well respected in France. The articles are about reader's
cars and the history of the cars in general.

The feature article is about a blue '62 convertible and there small articles
about other cars. There is a picture of a '64 Spyder convertible owned by Remy
Colinet when it is in my shop in Matthews (near Charlotte) N.C.

Remy is in the US on a Temporary (at least 4 years) assignment with his
company that is working with Duke Power developing MOX (mixed oxide)
technology to combine weapons grade plutonium with "normal" uranium to use as
fuel in power generation reactors. He is a car collector and has several
Citroens and Renaults (2CV's) at home. He also collects older mopeds and
drives one home when he brings a car in for work. It has a little gas engine
that turns a roller against the front tire. His first purchase in the US was a
'70 Cadillac Sedan Deville which he intends to take back home. They don't have
a lot of cars that big in France. He bought the Corvair for his wife. It had a
145 non turbo engine in it and we built a 164 110 HP for it. He didn't want
the complexity of the turbo when he takes it home.
