Sorry Ned, the general didn't add the front spoiler until the stitched them
on in 1966.

All of the late models had spoilers (maybe the lower trim levels didn't).
The 
stock spoiler was a simple straight piece of plastic that went straight
down. 
It works by reducing the air that goes under the car. The spoiler on my car
is a "CORSA ENTERPRISE" spoiler which has some forward rake, like a cow
catcher. This really improves the downforce on the front end at highway
speeds. Any 
proper spoiler will greatly improve the handling at speed greater than about
50 
MPH.
